Formed in 2005, the California Rangeland Conservation Coalition (the Coalition or CRCC) is a diverse and continually growing group of ranchers, conservation organizations, academics, trade groups, and government agencies, our signatories, that have come together under the jointly held truth that conserving California’s rangelands is a top priority for maintaining our natural resources and ensuring our way of life.
One day on a ranch in the Bay area these former foes came together and decided that joining forces to focus on common goals was far better than wasting time on the things we do not agree. We ALL
wanted to save rangelands for all the environmental and agricultural benefits they provide. Read the whole story HERE.
By joining forces for the common goal of protecting CA’s rangelands from conversion, we believe we can make the biggest impact on the sustainability of California’s natural and working range landscapes.
- Maintain the viability of the ranching industry in California.
- Educate the public about the importance of rangelands and the benefits of good rangeland stewardship to California’s future.
- Promote voluntary, collaborative, locally-led conservation that maintains and enhances working landscapes and Keeps Ranchers, Ranching!
